1. Does Maddahi use traditional methods of viewing the teeth?
In addition to the mirrors most dentists use, Dr. Kourosh Maddahi uses mini cameras to see hard to find places in the mouth. It's also helpful for the patients because they can see the problems and improvements in their teeth directly on the screen with the dentist, right from the dental chair.

2. What is the benefit of digital x-rays?
Because 90% less radiation is used, they are less harmful to the body. Additionally, the doctor and patient can see the results in a few seconds, so there is time wasted waiting for the x-rays to be exposed. And they are easily emailed to other dental offices.

3. Why do you use digital bite recorders?
Certain situations call for a digital bite recorder, which shows the dentist a lot more than the articulating paper that is customarily used. He can read the computer screen and see the bite from the moment your teeth touch the sensor until your bite fully closes, so he can more accurately read your bite and how well your teeth are fitting together.

4. How do air drills work?
By blasting a fine powder with air at the tooth, metal drills are totally avoided, on certain cavities. The pain and discomfort usually found when getting teeth drilled is non existent since the tooth is not exposed to extreme temperatures of hot and cold. Thus there is no anesthetic needed.

5. How can you liken a dental office to a spa?
The office of Dr. Kourosh Maddahi, DDS, has many amenities one doesn't expect to find in a dentist office: 3-D movie goggles, chair massagers, beautiful paintings on the wall, as well as warm, caring and pleasant staff who are quite knowledgeable. Also, patients with TMJ or headaches get soft tissue therapy which relaxes the stressed muscles in the jaw. Following the soft tissue therapy, patients are often sleepy and extremely relaxed. Patients can enjoy a tea ceremony with the dentist and therapist, as the tea stimulates them so they're ready to face the world.
